Welcome to The Sewing Hut
Here at The Sewing Hut in the shop we make children’s clothes and accessories from newborn to 12 years (older on request). My aim is to provide clothing that is comfortable, fun, full of colour, functional and practical.
They are an alternative to the High Street, but still affordable.
I’ve always loved being creative and I love sewing , I have a slight obsession with Fabrics I’m not gonna lie (my husband would say it’s more than slight – he calls me a hoarder!)
After finishing my fine Art degree at Uni, I worked in various art related jobs. But after having my 3 children, I realised the High Street shops didn’t offer anything that was unique and often, the fit wasn’t the best. I was always taking trousers and skirts in at the waist and un-picking hems . So that’s when I decided to start making clothes for my children and then later for family & friend’s children.
Now my children are older, I’m able to give my sewing my full attention. I’ve decided to start making to order. I have a studio based in East Sussex, you’re very welcome to visit.
It’s quick and easy to order on-line. I have made a series of ready-made items that can be purchased and posted, usually within a few days of ordering.
Please contact me for “made to order”, or if you see there is a fabric that catches your eye or a ready made item not to your size. These orders can usually be fulfilled within 2 to 3 weeks of a cleared payment !!
